Young Officer in a Zebra Coat, calling someone to give an account of his services.

"The zebra of the king's cabinet has become the model of the current fashion; all fabrics are striped, coats, gilets, resemble the skin of the handsome onager. Men, young and old, are in stripes from head to toe: the stockings are also striped."

SEBASTIEN MERCIER, Tableau de Paris, 1787

  1. I LOVE THIS OUTFIT!
Even the breeches, which are not a colour I wear.
This guy is beyond fabulous. I wish I could see his waistcoat.
I have a lot of dupioni in that shade of grey, maybe I could paint zig zags on it and make an approximation of this coat.
I really can't get over how awesome this is!
